The first annual Global Outreach Day took place on April 16, over 600 volunteers in Hong Kong participated in a Neighbor Caring Ambassador programme on that day

HOPE worldwide was awarded the Most Active Recruitment for volunteers by Volunteer Movement of Social Welfare Department in December 2001 for having recruited the highest number of volunteers in Hong Kong from July to November 2001
